Friends For Life Forever Farm

November is adopt a senior pet month as well as pet hospice and palliative care month.

I’m very happy to share with you the animal rescue group in our area that I’ll be supporting.  One of my goals with Eli & Jojo’s Bakery Bites is to donate a portion of my sales to a local animal care organization.  Friends For Life Forever Farm couldn’t be any more deserving and here’s why.

This nonprofit charitable organization is a sanctuary for senior and special needs animals.  Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home senior and special needs companion animals.  They are dedicated to providing retirement, assisted living, nursing and palliative care for as many dogs and cats as they have the space and funds to accommodate.  Most of the dogs, cats and horses come from western North Carolina.  Since their inception in 2005, they have helped over 2,000 special animals.

They currently house approximately 120 cats, 55 dogs and 4 horses.  Unlike a lot of rescue groups, the adoptability of an animal is not their primary concern.  They make a commitment to the animals at Forever Farm because no one else will.  Some animals do actually go to new homes with loving, compassionate folks.  Most of the animals live out their life at Forever Farm knowing they are loved and well taken care of.

Forever Farm is a cage-free home like environment.  The dogs enjoy both private and group living rooms and large fenced grassy play areas.  The cats live freely in a large facility with access to large sunny porches.  Friends For Life does not receive any county, state or federal funds.  They depend on tax deductible donations, bequests and small grants to maintain operation of Forever Farm.

If you are looking to help a very deserving animal rescue group, Friends For Life Forever Farm needs you.  You can read more at their website and they are on facebook.  Please take some time and look at this wonderful organization.
